Time to start anew...

I have finally decided that it is time to do this - I want to be able to share things with the world! So, I plan to start anew with this blog and truly make it a place I love. I hope you will join me on my journey.

A beautiful day ahead...

Ahh, here it is a Saturday off for the first time in ages...who knows what good things lie ahead for me on this beautiful day! I should clean house and cook a nice dinner for my hard-working husband or go see my family - but all I want to do is create something special from my art today. It is always a hard decision - whether to do what one should or what one wants, and I struggle with that often. I think I'll just have another cup of coffee and let things unfold as they will.

Busy, busy, busy...

I cannot believe all of the things that have been going on in the past two weeks....but the important thing is that I made my first etsy sale yesterday!! I am committed to trying to make that work for me, and have even purchased a showcase for holidays for tomorrow. Maybe that will get me some exposure. I will try hard to focus on my shop this week - I just was not able to get it done yesterday. Bu, as Scarlett says, tomorrow is another day...

Bunny Lamp...finally done!

This afternoon I finally finished the Bunny Lamp I have been working on for a while. When I found this great vintage sifter with the green handle, I knew it had to be for something special. I think it turned out way cute - I will add it to my etsy shop tonight. Let me know what you think...

The Luck of the Irish...

Happy St. Patrick's Day, and happy bithday, Mom! This is always a special day for me, even though Mom has been gone for more than 30 years - she loved to celebrate all holidays!

I have to admit that I am truly confused and overwhelmed with all of this new stuff in my life! OK, I have a blog and an etsy shop - now what??? I spend hours reading and looking at things, but cannot decide what I need to do next. Is there an "etsy and blogging for dummies" book I can read? Do I really want to start with Twitter? Can I handle linking my Facebook to this? What to do, what to do...

In the meantime, real life goes on and I must get ready for work. Have a great day, and enjoy the wearin' of the green.

Spring is here!

Yesterday was one of those glorious spring days here in central Texas, and I can tell that today will be the same. It doesn't last long like this before the heat sets in, so I'd better enjoy it while I can. This is a bittersweet Spring Break for me - it is Ginger's last high school one and I can't share it with her. One more reason to get on with this creative life, so I am in control of my time.

One of the things I hope to do with this blog is to connect with other creative folks who are living thier dreams every day - and making a living with them as well. I will share some of my creations and see where it leads me. I have been a crafter for so long - but now I truly want to see myself as an artist. I have already found lots of fabulous artisits who inspire me...I am sure that learning about them is going to help me see myself in a whole new light. The time is right for me to step out there and do something with this craft of mine - and I am on my way!

A new beginning...
